Plastic is a material which remains in its own state even after 300 years and does not breakdown or degrade. It is used for making different products like plastic bags, bottles, electronics, packaging materials and much more.

There are many countries around the world that are recycling plastic waste and reusing it in one way or another but still recycling of plastic is much less than that of waste is being generated.

Plastic waste

Plastic is polluting the land surface as well as oceans. It is dangerous for humans and aquatic animals. If plastic production isn’t stopped it may lead to severe circumstances because the world has already generated too much waste in the past decades which is creating problems to the environment. It’s a silent killer.

Plastic pollution in Pakistan

Coming towards Pakistan, it has a lot of plastic pollution on beaches, land surface and sewage lines. The tough and overwhelming thing about Pakistan is that there are none or very less plastic recycling organizations out there. In order to look into this problem I have came up with an idea to not only reduce plastic pollution but also make an important product out of it.

Plastic to Oil and Gas conversion process

This process is called Pyrolysis in which plastic is converted into oil which can be further refined to make petroleum products. I, personally talked to people who are too much disturbed of this issue and they were happy to know that there is a way in which plastic waste can be reduced.

I plan to install plants at different sites across the country where plastic pollution is at peak. For this I will need help from government organizations and private investors. I think this will create a positive change for environment because government is too busy in other affairs that it won’t ever pay attention to this problem.
